See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns

“Romeo, save me, I’ve been feeling so alone,” I whispered into his ear.

We gently swayed on the dance floor, locked in each other’s arms as the DJ played Taylor Swift’s "Love Story".

I was lost in his heartbeat, in his crystalline eyes, and his smooth kisses.
“You’ll be the prince, and I’ll be the princess,” Taylor cooed over the loud speakers.
How appropriate, I thought.
Because in that moment, however corny it may sound, I really did feel like a princess.
All of my stress over the past few weeks from exams and graduation, faded into the shadows. And it was you, only you, who graced my thoughts that night.

For every lonely high school homecoming and for every slow dance spent sitting alone, this night made up for it. My senior prom was everything I’d hoped it would be and more.

The song ended and he gracefully lowered me into a dip. He drew his lips close to mine and we kissed.
I couldn’t have asked for a better fairy tale ending.

For every lady, there is a gentleman. For every princess, there is a prince. And for every Juliet, there is a Romeo.

After prom ended we all went to the midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show (yes, like in The Perks of Being a Wallflower!).
